The Cardinal Nine won big on Sunday and are heading to the World Series. A celebration for the team's advancement has been set for Fourth Street Live in downtown Louisville on Tuesday, June 12 at 4:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The celebration is sponsored by the University of Louisville and the Mayor's Office. The team will sign autographs immediately after the ceremony. The Cardinal Bird and spirit groups will be in attendance.

After featuring Brohm on their cover a few weeks ago, the Sporting News decided to predict that UK will beat Louisville this year in football. "KENTUCKY OVER LOUISVILLE. The suffering in this series has gone on too long for the Wildcats. Is Andre Woodson the best QB in the state? Hmmm."

I've been resisting writing about non-basket & football UofL teams because I don't really follow them. I feel like a bandwagon fan when I get hyped up and follow other sports if and only if they succeed in the postseason. Then I read an extraordinary post at the CardChronicle blog about the baseball team and felt like it was OK to cheer them on.

Friday is set for 7:00 pm
Saturday is set for 4:00 pm

If a game Sunday is needed tickets will go on sale after game on Sat.

2 of the top 25 assistant coaches in college basketball are in the great state of Kentucky. Steve Masiello and Marvin Meazies were both named. I kept checking for someone from UK but I couldn't find anyone. Let me check again... nope still not there. Maybe I missed them... nope still not there.
