Official Orange Bowl Print Goes on Sale

At SmashGraphix the official Orange Bowl Print has gone on sale. It's nice and goes for $35 unframed (it'd be cheaper to buy it unframed and have it framed... plus you get to pick out the frame then). Some day I'll have a U of L themed pool room for stuff like this... someday.

U of L Loses to Villanova

We were so close... but we couldn't hang on. If we don't beat Georgetown and maybe Pitt, our record doesn't matter; 0 for XX against RPI top 50 would make the NCAA selection committee pass on us.

Signing day party....

University of Louisville will be hosting a signing day party Wednesday, February 7 at 4:00 p.m. in the Brown and Williamson Club. Coach Kragthorpe and assistant coaches will be discussing each signee and will show video highlights. Biography information for each signee will be available.

Admission is free and concessions will be available.

Louisville's 2007 Schedule is Finalized... We're Boise State

Here's the 2007-8 Football schedule Other than KY we have no tough out of conference opponents (NC State is a question mark... at least they're major conference). I don't think winning out is enought to make the title game. That would stink for Brohm to stay his senior year with no chance for a National Title, even if we win out. Am I missing something?

Padgett Powers Cards to a Big Win Over Cinci

Long time rival and current Big-East Foe from just up I-71 got handled by David Padgett and the Cardinals 69-53 last night at Fifth-Third Arena in Cincinnati. The cards shot well and had great runs to pull away. In the second half the bearcats never got closer than ten.

Along with Padgett's 18 points and 12 rebounds, Louisville's Terrence Williams added 13 points and 10 rebounds giving us two players with double-double's in as long as I can remember. And Juan Palacios nearly made it three (!), scoring 13 points with 9 rebounds.

Matt Simms Commits to U of L

The Courier-Journal has an article this morning states that Matt Simms spoke with coach Kragthorpe yesterday and confirmed his commitment.
Per the article:

As a senior the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Simms passed for 1,980 yards and 18 touchdowns. He completed 65 percent of his passes and led his team to the state title.

Simms threw for 6,000 yards and 60 TDs as a three-year starter and was rated the No. 1 quarterback prospect in New Jersey.

Cards Stage a Gutsy Comeback Over a Solid Syracuse Team

The University of Louisville staged a gutsy comeback on Saturday, coming back from 14 down to beat a tough Syracuse team at Freedom Hall. Palacios, who was invisible for the first 30 minutes of the game, came in and sparked the comeback with a couple of nice midrange jumpers top cut the 14 point lead in half. Louisville went on to finish the game with a 23 - 5 run over the last 9:43 of the game.

U of L Bags Williams... But Do We Want Him?

Sources accross the Internet and at U of L say former University of Miami linebacker Willie Williams will transfer to Louisville. He is a 5 star prospect and would shore up a defence decimated by injuries, but Louisville is developping a reputation for taking risks on thugs that no one else will. Lets hope things work out OK. Bender and Character have hurt the basketball program, but one player shouldn't have that great of an effect on an 85 man football program. I guess only time will tell.
