TWill Update: Terrence Williams underwent knee surgery Wednesday and is expected to be out four to six weeks. The school announced that the surgery was successful. Team doc Dr. John Ellis performed the surgery to repair a medial meniscus tear in Williams' right knee. Williams was injured during a pickup game Tuesday.
This was the poorest offensive game I have ever witnessed. Krag is out of his league in D1. I wish it weren't true. I don't know if TJ would cut him loose but if it takes 4 years for him to figure it out this will be bad.
I thought it was fun to see what the ROI was for teams recruitment spending. Here's the chart:
Here's the data from the Chronicle of Education. I estimated UofL's spending at $950,000. I get the impressions that Syracuse and Kansas State's terrible showings might have skewed the results.
Directors' Cup rank
U. of Tennessee at Knoxville $2,005,700 16
U. of Notre Dame 1,758,300 21
U. of Florida 1,451,400 6
Auburn U. 1,374,900 20
Kansas State U. 1,316,700 71
U. of Georgia 1,284,000 10
6th... In football no less!
Here's the full rankings:
1. West Virginia: Coach Bill Stewart wants quarterback Pat White to become more of a passer. We already know how well the senior runs.
2. Pitt: Sophomore LeSean McCoy replaces Ray Rice and Steve Slaton as the hardest runner to tackle in the Big East. Can the Panthers find a passing game to take pressure of him?
The Papa John's cardinal stadium expansion project is under way and slated to be finished about the same time as the downtown arena. Building the stadium in phases was a great idea. It's impressive that with financing as tough as it is and with our football teams' terrible year and uncertain future that this has the momentum that it does. Anyhow, it's good for the school. I brought a friend to a game who usually goes to ACC stadiums and he was underwhelmed to say the least. I'm glad we're stepping a little bit closer to average.
Go Cards! I was a little overconvident of this win but it worked out. I don't know what to expect with UNC but I'm hoping for the best. We're really looking great right now.
I know close games are thrilling and all, but I love seeing us dominate another team. Oklahoma was a pretty average team I admit, but a lot of teams have had big scares and even Ls to lesser teams this post-season. I thought our passing was great, score balanced and best of all, we played focused and intense. I'm excited about the next few games. (I hope)

Class of 2009 standout Rakeem Buckles committed to U of L today. He'd been thought of as more of a project until this his junior year. He's had a breakout season playing for Miami Monsignor Pace and has moved up the scouts rankings.
