Class of 2009 standout Rakeem Buckles committed to U of L today. He'd been thought of as more of a project until this his junior year. He's had a breakout season playing for Miami Monsignor Pace and has moved up the scouts rankings.

Prior to committing to UofL, he was considering Miami and West Virginia but he made the right choice committing here (I'm not biased either... I cover all schools equally). Buckles is a great athlete, a la T-Will who loves to drive to the rim. ESPN says that he's not so hot in the half court offense and would do well to play somewhere where they ruin and press a lot. That my friends would be Louisville. If he can add some meat (he's only 190), an outside shot and his ability to create a shot in the half court he could be drafted in a few years. Not as a small forward though unless he grows a couple inches.
